  • Sure, if that's a reasonable option, but letting the kid hurt themselves isn't always practical. Letting the kids find out 'messing with the pot of boiling water is bad' the hard way, as an example, is not what I would consider good parenting.

  • They can do more than one thing though. Germany should be able to treat both the root cause as well as the acute symptoms.

  • I'm glad we're getting the stupid kind of facism where they think its a good idea to piss off the military.

Like, I would rather we do the other thing instead, but if we're doing to do a facism speedrun I'll take the any% over the 100% 10 times out of 10

  • Sounds like they should have been paying you appropriately enough to care

  • Steam itself is an issue, to be clear. It's unknown how much of a lift it will be to migrate steam from a 32 bit binary to a 64 bit. It should be basically zero, but who the fuck knows.

  • The combination of 'industry plant' and 'blizzard nepobaby' are consistent accusations since his videos

  • Olympics?

  • I'll tell you since you seem to have them on speed dial:

This was peaceful, and they aren't the city's responsibility. They can file their grevence claims with the instigators of the "riots" if they would like, US Customs and Border Patrol.

When the city of los angeles wants to throw hands, it will be unsubtle. And keep in mind that the last time this happened, that was with civic leaders trying to damp things down, a circumstance which the feds would not enjoy this time.

  • The maintenance issues this ship is about to run into will be incredible

  • There's a statically significant Jewish population in and around NYC. For reference, New York is the city with the second highest Jewish population on the planet, second only to Tel Aviv: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_population_by_city

  • This isn't a Canadian problem, it's a capitalism problem

  • tl;dr he sandbagged the movement when it was beginning to build momentum with a bunch of, what would charitably be called, misunderstandings of the whole point.

It's covered pretty thoroughly here: https://youtu.be/HIfRLujXtUo?t=1117

  • And it wasn't even close either.

    Hell yeah

  • Isn't telling people to do crime a crime in and of itself in the UK?

  • There's a potentially justifiable use case in training one and evaluating its performance for use in, idk, triaging a mass-casualty event. Similar to the 911 bot they announced the other day.

Also similar to the 911 bot, i expect it's already being used to justify cuts in necessary staffing so it's going to be required in every ER to maintain higher profit margins just keep the lights on.

  • And why does it start in 6 hours? Do the two sides get to just lob missiles at each other for the next 6 hours and then just say "gg" in a text to each other or something?

Ceasefires have a warmup time to allow for troops out of contact to be contacted and notified before it starts, ideally to avoid anyone accidentally doing a warcrimes right after everyone was told to stop shooting.

If Canada joins the EU via the Denmark border, that could lead to a world where the US (and the rest of the americas) also joins the EU

Title assumes the current reality changes to one where stupid shit still happens but it's not always "And then it got worse" (lmao)

Replaced the battery on my wireless headset this evening

Finally got around to replacing the battery in my Razer Nari headset, after years of it only lasting <1 hour on battery power. Couldn't get the soldering with my old iron after over an hour of fucking with it, got frustrated and went to home depot at 8:30 at night to get an iron that isn't older than I am and one of those little clip holder things. Took less than 10 minutes to put the last 2 wires on with a functional tool. Got a new multimeter too. Forgot to take pictures of the completed job though, my bad.

It's turning off during charging occasionally which i think means the first 2 connections might be fucked up, so i might go back and fix those and install the USB-C port I bought for it this weekend.
