If the primary system is already "loosely democratic" then we're not really throwing anything away by choosing a different nominee.
I disagree. If you start with a flawed system and then go to a worse system, you're marching in the wrong direction.
If Biden legitimately has health issues, he should resign as President, not just bow out of reelection. The fact that very few are calling for that belies the fact that few actually believes he's unhealthy. They just don't think he'll win and want a different candidate.
This upheaval against Biden is too late. It undermines the entire process we have and makes Democrats appear as poor for the country as Republicans.
We already have a bad system for primaries that is only loosely democratic. It takes votes into consideration but is a broken system that heavily favors super-delegates and pressures primary opponents of an incumbent to drop out.
But if we throw away any implication of democratic elections in choosing the nominee, we just trade one type of descent into authoritarianism for another.
The time for this was during primary elections for the Democratic nominee, not now. Doing it now undermines the rule of law, reduces any moral high ground Democrats have going into a very close election, and erodes any little chance remaining of a nonviolent transfer of power in January.
Subsistence farming isn't a profession by that definition because they aren't producing something for someone else, just themselves.
This is awesome! Amazing work.
Did you secure it to the wall with anything? I'd be concerned it may fall out given how narrow it is (and that kids tend to pull and push on shelves).
Man can literally stack blocks of water and is excited about units being easy to convert. Wild.
I believe that Iran will target Israel's electricity infrastructure, specifically power plants, if Israel attacks Iran again.
You can use the mobile website if you don't want to install their app. You can also put the tickets in a mobile wallet if you use one.
This is just so you don't screenshot, share it, and try to double-dip your ticket with a friend.
If you do want to log in, for instance to post something, are you able to in redlib?
It says "long term housing" in the article. Shelters are by definition not long term. These people weren't paying their bills, so the police found them a place where they would be taken care of that they didn't have to pay for. This was honestly a very fair and reasonable outcome.
Sounds like you just need an excuse to argue for socialism, though. So yes, no one should ever be evicted, no one should be a landlord, no one should pay rent, and on and on and on...
The officer on site had worked with these people for a month and had found them long term housing. They were not getting evicted and left out on the streets, just moved to a more appropriate location.

First off, the US is a Spanish speaking country. There's 3 NCAA Div 2 schools in the US territory of Puerto Rico. None play football, but they all have basketball. And there are many NCAA football games broadcast in Spanish -- you just have to look on the team's site.
And it looks like Mexico has an American football league to follow: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mexican_collegiate_American_football_programs
"You should pay income taxes on your bribes" is a stupid hot take. If they were bribes he should be required to disgorge the full amount as part of his punishment.
Title of the article is misleading. Should say "Pundit guesses blindly at damage Trump could do as President"
It's not necessarily a bad guess, but it's not based on anything Trump or any of his team actually said.
Savvy teachers will catch this. Change the kerning by a little instead.
I recommend Khan Academy. Self paced, but gamified learning. Totally free and accessible, but also rigorous and complete. It goes from literal infant level to full bachelor's in mathematics.

Maybe I just got lucky, but the companies I've worked at the HDHP was significantly less expensive but also HR would encourage fully funding the HSA when you select it (one of them auto enrolled a substantial amount in HSA). There was still savings vs other plans even after fully funding. Also, both companies directly funded a portion of the HSA which I believe is common.
I don't know if there's HDHPs on the marketplaces but I'm not sure they should be. And I know that medicare plans are not HDHPs (this is mentioned in the article) since they don't make sense for people who are struggling. But I think for people in the middle they are a really good option that should be encouraged.
I have heard of people using them as second retirement funds, but my family has always had enough medical costs to consume the value.
