  • Another month, another BVWSC, another chance for nominations

  • Mine is a bit wheathered, but it looks indeed great!

  • Saturday, November 2, 2024

There are two or three shaves still left in this soap – it will definitely not see 2025.

    Have a good evening!

It's All Saints Day, and the croissant of death is getting flatter.

    Have a good day!

  • I noticed with shavettes that I can't get the same flat angle because of the lip - I don't know whether this causes better skin feel though

A morning shave, everything well. Making progress on the kill – the omega of death has transformed into a C (or a U?) of death.

    Have a good day!

  • Some people shave twice a day in November, and are BBS the whole month.

  • I had an mild razor with a well-worn blade, which is probably not the winning condition for a close shave.

Do you think you lost proficiency on the DE side, or have straight shaves more potential?

Good shave today – and it's strange to see that my shaves with a straight are closer than those I get from an (admitedly very mild) DE razor.

    Blue Mediterranean++

    Have a good evening.

  • FWIW, in other contexts where the risk of injury is unacceptable, I have seen a general consensus on recommendations for the Oneblade. It appears that it's basically impossible to cut yourself, even if you try. So if injury is a major issue, but getting an ultraclose shave and spending 30ish € aren't, you may want to look into this.

Edit: It can be used dry or with lather.

  • It's just a shame that most of their knots are so tiny! 21 mm wouldn't fit well for my needs

The nod seems to fan out just like Semogue brushes. The 610 is a 21mm knot, and the C3s have a 22mm knot. For face shaving, this is amply sufficient - I guess for the dome, it might be a bit small 😭

  • They list fucus vesiculosus extract as one of their ingredients. Unfortunately, I don't smell it at all in the soap - I would love to have something that smells like the sea at the French Channel or Atlantic coast.

  • Saturday, October 26, 2024: Tag der Fahne

    • Brush: Yaqi 24mm Synthetic Panda
    • Razor: King C. Gillette DE Razor
    • Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (28)
    • Lather: Haslinger Algae
    • Postshave: Williams Aqua Velva
    • Postshave: Nivea After Shave Balm

Today is the Austrian National Holiday – the day of the flag, which commemorates when the last Soviet soldier left the country in 1955. I used my only remaining Haslinger soap to commemorate, and combined it with a blade produced in Russia.

    Have a good evening!

  • My 24mm SOC is much bigger than my 28mm Zenith. The Pegasus is a 26mm, so I'd assume it to be bigger than a 31mm Zenith.

  • Not many Mühle-fans around here - the handle looks neat, though!

BTW, have you seen the Semogue Pegasus? Might be the moastest boar eva.
