  • Saturday, October 26, 2024: Tag der Fahne

    • Brush: Yaqi 24mm Synthetic Panda
    • Razor: King C. Gillette DE Razor
    • Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (28)
    • Lather: Haslinger Algae
    • Postshave: Williams Aqua Velva
    • Postshave: Nivea After Shave Balm

Today is the Austrian National Holiday – the day of the flag, which commemorates when the last Soviet soldier left the country in 1955. I used my only remaining Haslinger soap to commemorate, and combined it with a blade produced in Russia.

    Have a good evening!

  • My 24mm SOC is much bigger than my 28mm Zenith. The Pegasus is a 26mm, so I'd assume it to be bigger than a 31mm Zenith.

  • Not many Mühle-fans around here - the handle looks neat, though!

BTW, have you seen the Semogue Pegasus? Might be the moastest boar eva.

  • I just tried a smooth (bamboo) breakfast bowl. I'm not sure whether it's the material or the ridges, but I get a thicker lather faster in my Yaqi bowl, FWIW.

    • Brush: Yaqi 24mm Synthetic Panda
    • Razor: King C. Gillette DE Razor
    • Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (27)
    • Lather: Southern Witchcraft Autumn Ash
    • Postshave: Williams Aqua Velva
    • Postshave: Nivea After Shave Balm

I felt some burn during the shave – it might be related to the fact that my nose runs like crazy, and that I have been through 10-ish packets of paper towels. The combination between AA and Aqua Velva did not raise any suspicion – either my nose has turned itself off, or Aqua Velva is good with anything.

    Have a nice evening!

  • Yeah, probably try another bowl!

  • I cannot speak for your bowl, but I have this one, and it works well.

I don't spread the soap out evenly, and not very thinly. How do you add water? And how lang do you lather?

Maybe check out sgrdddy or Kevy Shaves (on youtube) on how they do it.

Give up and grow a beard?

    😱

  • don't you want the three rivets to look the same afterwards?

    Not necessarily.

But I think I will avoid (un)peening for the moment, until I find myself a cheapo razor I don't mind destroying for practice

  • I'm hesitant: the scales are in excellent shape, and I've never unpeened anything. The rivets are very loose though. And I hoped that I could get away with only removing 1 rivet..-

  • Here we go:

It's actually very difficult to get a good photo of the stains...

    • Razor: Feather Artist Club SS Kamisori
    • Blade: Feather Pro Guard (7)
    • Lather: Southern Witchcraft Autumn Ash
    • Postshave: Naissance 702 Witch Hazel
    • Postshave: Pitralon Classic After Shave

Everybody here is getting fever – but me. I will hold out as is usual two days longer than the others.

But I found a letter from @walden@sub.wetshaving.social in my mail – ready for BVWSC November edition!

    Have a good day!

  • I got a Puma 100 last week from the bay. The images were 👀 - flattering, and I was surprized about the state, but the price was low. I have heavy staining on the blade, and I might need to unpeen it. Manual polishing didn't get me very far, but the integrity of the blade looks ok, as far as I can tell. Affaire à suivre!

Late shave, and reduced motor control – but, no cut.

    Have a good night!

  • Do I really need two 6/8 hollow-but-stiff round point French blades?

You cannot have too many French blades. It is known.

More or less a repeat of yesterday's shave – the Omega in my soap is getting skinnier.

    Have a good Sunday!
