www.cnn.com Elon Musk’s X sues media watchdog Media Matters over report on pro-Nazi content on the social media site | CNN Business

After a devastating advertiser exodus last week involving some of the world’s largest media companies, X owner Elon Musk is suing the progressive watchdog group Media Matters over its analysis highlighting antisemitic and pro-Nazi content on X — a report that appeared to play a significant role in t...

Elon Musk's social media company X filed a lawsuit against Media Matters for America on Monday, saying it manufactured a report to show advertisers' posts alongside neo-Nazi and white nationalist posts in order to drive advertisers from the platform and destroy X Corp.

In response, Media Matters claims that the lawsuit is frivolous and aimed at silencing critics of X.

Ironically, a news report this morning revealed that Media Matters is a censorship organization funded by George Soros and others who oppose Western civilization. The organization is said to be designed to suppress certain views.

While these big companies are stuck in profit-driven conflicts, the commitment to protecting freedom of speech and privacy seems to have been completely forgotten. Now, the truth is treated as the new hate speech.

'Signal tests usernames to avoid using phone numbers.' Great move?
  • Why not? It's a secure messenger like Session. While on Wiremin you can even turn off the public groups feature.

  • Then what about WireMin, Session, and Element? All are decentralized messengers that safer than Signal.

    Instagram's monthly subscription
  • They profit from user-generated content and monetize your data, and now they're asking for your money to keep creating content for them.

You should walk away from these toxic platforms. In reality, there are tons of excellent software options that do not collect and sell your data while allowing you to use their services and protecting your privacy at the same time. Mastodon (I guess most of you have already heard of it), Element, SimpleX Chat, WireMin, Session, etc. I can keep listing them all day.

Google will now make passkeys the default for personal accounts
  • It’s definitely more secure since it only works on one device. And I think they might have gotten this idea from a decentralized network.

This actually reminds me of a decentralized social network application. They allow one account to be logged into multiple devices through a private key (backup recovery phrase), however, different devices may have different passwords, and each password only works on its respective device.

It’s called WireMin. If you guys are interested, personally think its much more fun than Session.

UK's "Online Safety Bill" should be renamed the "Online Exposure Bill
  • What concerns me most is that biometric data is permanent and cannot be changed. If we share it with the digital world, it could lead to lifelong privacy risks. And I believe that the risks and threats to privacy brought by the UK's Online Safety Bill far outweigh the protection it can provide us with.

I don't know how the government plans to enforce the Bill, but as far as I know, some decentralized encrypted messaging apps are unstoppable, because every user who using the app jointly creates the social network that avoids a single point of failure.
