Torrenting isn’t much better and certainly not more convenient.
Somebody already mentioned automating your torrents with sonarr/radarr .... after that, add the files to a media library like plex or jellyfin and you're expirence is just as convinent as any professional streaming serives. Probably more convenient.
Yeah, same. I switched to seagate after 3 WD drives failed in less then 3 years. Never had problems since.

Meanwhile in der Schweiz muss ich regelmässig nach einer Kassenaufsicht suchen gehen damit sie die blöde Alterskontrolle bestätigen können.
I could never love someone that goes to jazz festivals.
Ah yes. I too have 20% obesity.
Who gives a shit about the Oscars?
I do paper books.
Well, I'd be down like 60TB, so getting to keep 100GB of that isn't much different than losing it all, might as well not bother with it and just wait out the 5 years and start over.
Not sure what you mean by "for German use". The US is very much in charge of every step of the use of shared nuclear weapons. Our pilots get to deliver them, that's pretty much all of our involvement.
‘quantum leap’ for industry
So ... the tiniest possible step forward?
Just to let you know, you posted your reply 3 times. I downvoted the other 2 (consider deleting them).
I DGAF about your kids.
Preach!
One of the craziest wtf moment of my life resulted from an oversharing parent.
At a hot summer day a few years back someone posted a picture of them barbequing in their backyard to our company's "off topic" teams chat. Nothing unusual. I was over at a friends place so I send back a picture of us sitting in lawnchairs having a beer. In comes the third colleague, first time father with a roughly 1.5 year old at the time. So he posts a picture of his kid running around in his backyard. Completly naked, full frontanl nudity.
It took me a minute to recollect and I messaged him to please take down the picture. I know he didn't mean any harm and was just sharing his hot-summer-weekend expirence ... and he did realise his blunder and took it down. But wtf mate?
After that I immediately googled how to clear my teams' app image cache ...
I know and I chose those two examples to illustrate that people will even disagree with stuff that is blatantly factual. So it just gets worse if you enter murkier territory, like politics or ethics where there is no firm factual basis.
I'm sure you won't have to search too long for a very well written post by some tanky about how a North Korean style dictatorship is superior to western democracy. Should you upvote it just because it's well written, even if you think the idology is insane and dangerous?
That would just be misinformation
Sure, according to us. But you don't actually need to be right to think you're right. If someone believes the earth is flat, they'll downvote "globe-talk" as misinformation, just as it was intended! So it all just comes back to (dis)agreeing.
Dann würde ich Deutches Mediathek degöns, das halt immer Potential für geoblocking hat, grundsältzlich nach Deuschland posten.
They should be more about “good post or bad post”, so something that may be disagreeable gets upvotes if it is well stated.
I don't care how well stated some anti-vax or flat-earth bullshit is ... It'll get downvoted regardless because I disagree.
It really depends on where you use them.
In some communities I'll use upvotes as a way to track which posts I've seen.
In news communties I always downvote tabloid sources and clickbait headlines, regardless of content.
But when it comes to the comments, it's mostly an agree/disagree button.
