I'd remind these communists that a lot of the leaders of the transgender movement in the US were or ended up communists, and that 'gay rights' didn't just cynically materialize in the US birthed from decadance- they were fought for against state violence. The liberals co-opted and assimilated the movement and communists should be pointing to that example for the desperate need for radical organizing. "gay marriage" and participating in the military is explicitly not what radical queers wanted, and rainbow capitalism is not the movement.
