  • Don’t worry. Now that I’ve dug up their graves, it’s only a matter of time before I have cloned both Feynman and von Neumann, implanted them with wombs and gotten them to mutually mpreg each other. I estimate that once I’ve done about 10 levels of selective breeding, we’ll have figured out what is happening in gaza.

  • Aaaaa gotcha. It’s probably obvious but in my case I meant L7 manager as in “level 7 manager”, a high tier managerial position at twitter, probably. I don’t know what exact tiering system twitter uses but I know other companies might use “Lx” to designate a level.

  • Jesus fucking christ. Fuck Yud. It's on sight. I'm gonna empirically find out what his jaw is made of; current hypothesis: sugar glass. At this point, at his age, and at the amount of time he spends in the communities he does, this should only be interpreted as full support of genocide. Pretending not to have formed an opinion here is some real ghoulish shit.

  • On one hand, this is another case of capitalism working as intended. You have the ruling class dangling the carrot of the promise of social mobility via job. Just gotta turn the crank of the orphan grinder for 4 years or so, until there's enough orphan paste to grease the next grinding machine. But it's ok, because your experience in crank will let you climb the ladder to the next, higher paying, higher prestige crank of the machine. Then one day, they decide to turn on the motor.

On the other hand? There is no other hand, they chopped it off because you didn't turn the crank fast enough when you had the chance.

  • Possibly my favorite kind of article. “The numbers that get thrown about don’t mean what the people throwing them around think them to mean, here is what they actually mean”. It’s like someone telling you about the defcon numbers and that smaller is more serious, or that if they say 50% chance of rain, they don’t mean it is a coin flip on it raining, they mean that in 50% of the area they are talking about, it will definitely rain. Except this one is: “numbers used in polygenic embryo selection aren’t like base stats in a videogame menu, you turds”

  • Forwarding this discussion to here:

News from r/philosophy: OOP, Richard Y Chappell, posted an article containing image slop, landing them a 3-day ban. OOP writes a new article that DESTROYS the r/philosophy moderation policy on AI generated content with FACTS and LOGIC. For added flavour, OOP is an EA. OP is an SSCer. Both are participants in the thread.

  • I did look into this at time of edit: the author of the article linked AND the poster of the link are nestled in rat space. So yes

E: when I wrote this comment, I was only thinking about the statement "OP is an EA/LWer". to be clear:

author of the article claims that they tried to post one of their articles to r/philosophy, and because the article contained AI generated content, they received a 3 day ban

poster of the article is a separate person

E2: the author of the article is also participating in the reddit thread, FWIW

  • ah man this rules. just gonna live in this world for a bit

    • LW -> "Love Wrestling!" an online forum discussing all things wrestling
    • Zizians are just an alternate, more extreme promotion
    • Roko's Basilisk -> a finisher move of 3rd rate, tech-themed wrestler "Roko" that not only "finishes" your opponent, but simulates them getting finished infinitely
    • Musk and Grimes are personas and their weird dating life is just a long and drawn out storyline
    • All enthusiasm for polyamory replaced with enthusiasm for tag team matches
  • Imagine a world where, instead of performing this kind of juvenile psychoanalysis of slop, Yud instead turned his stupid focus on, like, Star Wars EU novels or something.

Edit: from the comments: there's mention about "HHH", so now I say: imagine a world where all the rats and other promptfondlers dedicated all their brainrot energy toward the pro-wrestling fandom instead.

  • left behind

Ah great. So if I don't get the glasses, I don't get raptured and am left behind. If I do get the glasses, I get raptured, everything I'm wearing is left behind, specifically the glasses. So this is a no-win scenario.

  • Recently, I've been seeing a lot of adverts from Google about their AI services. What really tickles me is how defeatist the campaign seems. Every ad is basically like "AI can't do X, but it can do Y!", where X is a job or other task that AI bros are certain that AI will eventually replace, and Y is a smaller, related thing that AI gets wrong anyway. For an ad agency, I'd expect more than this.
