  • forcing people to support a project for Y amount of years would really harm indie developers releasing Linux distros and the like

Solution: implement as consumer protection that only applies to paid OS's (and also ones that require a license, even if it's "free" due to coming with the hardware)

  • Better laws would be:

    • to mandate open source relaease at EOS
    • automatically public domain at EOS
    • require paid operating systems to supporr hardware from 15 years ago (as a consumer protection law, so that it only applies to paid OS's (and also ones that require a license, even if it’s “free” due to coming with the hardware), so that foss projects arent hurt)
  • Mandatory open source public domain release at EOS.

At Win10 EOS, people would make Windows distros, and ReactOS would no longer have to be a clean room implementation.

Also this would be a success for Stop Killing Games.

    Google "degoogling".
    Actually don't.
    Search it on DuckDuckGo.

    Access YouTube through Invidious.
Install GrapheneOS on Google Pixel phones, and /e/OS on other bootloader-unlockable Android phones.
Or go for a real Linux phone.
Swap Chrome for Librewolf or Firefox.
If you use GMail, move to a different provider.
    Use Openstreetmap.
Replace clouds such as Google Docs, Drive, Calendar, and Photos with alternatives.

P.S. codeblock is so that markdown doesn't fuck up the line breaks

  • ls -a

    Jump
  • I like ls -Ap, the -p option is convenient, it puts a / at the end of names if they're directories. -A is like -a but doesn't show . and ..

-l is sometimes useful, but a bit cluttered and less readable (at least to me, maybe it wouldn't be if I were used to using it)

  • equating skin colour with culture

Not equating. They said that people of an ethnicity are often also of a culture common among those of that ethnicity.

I'm in Costa Rica, and people are likely to (correctly) assume that I'm a foreigner here because I'm white.

It's not equating. It is, however, a way to tell what is likely.
