Yeah, I've blocked every US-specific community I've seen on the everything feed but it keeps spilling into seemingly unrelated communities too. And it's only going to get worse.

I think a big problem is that most people who stumble upon posts from Vegancirclejerk are random non-vegans who see it in their feed. Is it even possible to exclude communities from the everything feed on Lemmy?

It's a shame because VCJ and VFCJ were my favourite communities on Reddit but the vibe on their Lemmy counterpart is not quite there yet. I just want my cruelty free echo chamber back dammit.

Etenkin kun tämäkin kehityssuunta on ollut nähtävissä jo pitkään, tässä on hyvin ollut aikaa miettiä alanvaihtoa.

Reddit added the same functionality some time ago, I'm a bit sad it's a thing here too but oh well. People seem to like it. My favourite thing about reddit was it being text-based though

Tiesin että nuo Redditin muutokset koskettaisivat vain pientä osaa käyttäjistä (kolmannen osapuolen sovelluksia käytti melko harva), mutta onpa silti masentavaa nähdä miten vähän porukkaa tänne lopulta siirtyi vrt. tuo r/suomiavoin johon en ollut tätä ennen törmännytkään. Jotenkin harmittaa nähdä miten moni loikkasi saman tien korvaavalle subille, itse kun olisin mieluusti nähnyt useammankin subin ottavan r/suomen linjan ja pysyvän kiinni. No, jännä nähdä mitä siitä tulee jos yhteisö kasvaa, tällä hetkellä näyttää olevan vain yhden käyttäjän pyörittämä. r/suomen moderaattorit tekivät kuitenkin kulissien takana helvetisti töitä pitääkseen sivun tason korkealla.

Eipä siinä, omaan selaamiseen sopii tämä verkkaisempi postaustahti, mutta kyllähän täällä silti enemmän keskustelua mielellään näkisi. En usko että Sopulinkaan kasvu kuitenkaan pysähtyy, pikkuhiljaa tästä rakentuu suurempi yhteisö.
