Needful Things - 1993
A shop of curiosities and a curious shop keeper... a steven king movie.
I really enjoyed it, the pacing, the tension was just right.
The Park is Mine - 1985
Pretty good overall. Interesting to see Tommy Lee Jones do a rambo. The pacing of the older films is a little difficult to watch, so I watched it at 2x speed.
The inclusion of the two over the hill pudgy mercenaries at the end was a curious touch.
Tommy Lee as the everyman.
House of Cards - Series - 2013
Seasons 1-3 are great, very compelling. The storytelling is nicely done, the scripts are tight the first few seasons.
I'm now at season 4 and it kinda goes off it's rocker. I find myself playing season 4 at 2x speed
I think they are trying to parallel some mix of the Clintons. It's a very cynical show.
Reacher - Season 3
Pretty good overall.
Power fantasy, a plot that evolves as the season goes on.
Some weaknesses this season, more and more hoops on why the entire weight of the us government couldn't be used on a ongoing investigation.
Tons of extra-judicial executions, it's almost like Reacher is a bad guy (if he ever makes a mistake).
28 Years Later - Recommend
A solid movie, exactly what you expect. Worth a watch
Also Critical Drinker recommends as well https://youtu.be/UemitJMT4d4
The Platform - 2019
As a film it's ok, but as a think piece it's excellent.
A group of prisoners are kept in a vertical jail with food being distributed every day by a elevator in the middle. Lots of discussion of survival sharing resources.
I really like this film, I would recommend anyone watch it. Obvio
The Amateur - 2025
6/10 - It's a ok action thriller, kind of a nerd revenge fantasy. It holds up fairly well until the ending scene
Sinners - 2025
A absolutely excellent film, great cinematography, story pacing. It takes itself seriously enough that you can get immersed.
Set in the 1920s south amongst a racially divided farming community, two cousins start a new business.

It's great to watch, worth the time, I do recommend.
Lucifer - Series - 2016
The series focuses on Lucifer Morningstar, a powerful archangel who was cast out of Heaven for his rebellion and forced to spend millennia punishing people as the lord of Hell. Bored and unhappy with his life in Hell, he abdicates his throne in defiance of his father
A pretty good series, I just finished season 1. They do play nicely with the concepts and don't go over the top. It does use the A plot B plot structure, with the B plots moving along slowly.
I did enjoy some of the humanizing of the "warden" aspects
The Last Ship - Series - 2014
Wow... this had 5 seasons?!?!
After a global viral pandemic wipes out over 80% of the world's population, the 218-person crew of an unaffected U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, the fictional USS Nathan James (DDG-151), must try to find a cure and save humanity.
This is a nice popcorn sci-fi show, paints by the numbers, but still interesting tension.
Seeing Jayne Cobb as the XO with a bald spot was the first time a TV show made me fell old.
I finished watching season 1 - enjoyable.

TLDR - It's great end to end, with all the original jank.
Talking about my experiences with Oblivion Remastered after checking out all the content and changes to one of my favorite games of all time!
:::spoiler summerizer
Mortismal Gaming reviews TES: Oblivion Remastered after fully completing the game, highlighting significant improvements over the original, including a revamped leveling system, better graphics, and updated gameplay mechanics. However, he notes notable performance issues and some minor annoyances with the user interface. Overall, he sees it as a better version of the classic game, despite some drawbacks.
Though Oblivion Remastered offers great improvements, it suffers from frequent crashes and other performance problems, especially due to its use of Unreal Engine 5, which can lead to stuttering and bugs.
The remastered version integrates aspects f
Gravity Falls - Series 2012
Gravity Falls is an American mystery comedy animated television series created by Alex Hirsch for Disney Channel and Disney XD. The series follows the adventures of Dipper Pines (Jason Ritter) and his twin sister Mabel (Kristen Schaal), who are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle (or "Grunkle") Stan (Hirsch) in Gravity Falls, Oregon, a mysterious town full of paranormal incidents and supernatural creatures. The kids help Stan run the "Mystery Shack", the tourist trap that he owns, while also investigating the local mysteries.
An surprisingly deep show with lots of thoughtful messaging, colorful messages, and a upbeat tone throughout. Cerebral and fun.
Werewolves Within - 2021
A fun campy werewolf film, a bunch of twists, light hearted... they explore the space. I recommend for a fun experience.
Maze Runner Films
A pretty good 3 movie arc of a zombie apocalypse, good pacing, just enough mystery box to keep things moving.
Overall a good watch, would recommend for a rainy day.
Get Out - 2017
A really excellent film, that deserves thought and reflection
Jared Bauer does a excellent breakdown : 8 years later, i finally understand get out https://youtu.be/NW38mJ1DqPE
Minecraft - RedLetterMedia - 2025

We saw The Minecraft Movie! Correction: we saw A Minecraft Movie. This movie is a Minecraft movie, because someone had to make it. It stars Jack Black because of course it does. In the film, lights and colors appear on the screen and people in the audience laugh when characters say that their butt hurts. It is truly a magical time at the cinema and we can only hope that this Minecraft Movie is not the only Minecraft Movie.

Red Dog - 2011
A great comedy drama set in the outback, a slice of life type of film
The Orville - Series
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Orville
It's great, started as a weird comedy hybrid but found its legs as a modern version of Star Trek the next generation.
The characters are a bit in your face, the story beats a little predictable, but its peak space opera.
It's very enjoyable, and has heart.
Has 3 seasons available.
Big Trouble in Little China
This movie is peak 80s action, taking it self seriously but not overly so. I must have watched this movie a dozen times, but never all the way through. it's a staple of background action and comedy.
It is a top tier B movie cult classic.
Jurassic Park - 1993
A classic! A must watch on any rainy day.
Nice to see old computers struggling, compiling taking down systems. Great performances all around.
And of course "it's a unix system"
