Looking for a way to listen to music on my android device, preferably streaming, without ads. Been using Spotify with Ublock Origin on my PC and hoping there was a way to do something similar on android.
ViMusic and InnerTune are both available on F-Droid, and are both YouTube Music clients (with reccomendations!). ViMusic is more established, but InnerTune seems to be more up-to-date.
If you want, you can self host an Navidrome instance and listen to your music in your devices with Substreamer (in fact, any subsonic compatible client works with navidrome).
I'll also pitch in Jellyfin+Finamp for a self hosted option. Navidrome is also very good, but if OP is already in the Jellyfin ecosystem, it's a good choice.
I can recommend ViMusic. I got it from the F-Droid Store. It basically get's every song from youtube, with a very nice gui. Not a song i didn't find yet.
Holy shit that's amazing. I used the Zune player exclusively for my mp3 collection on my old desktop PC before it took a shit on itself and died last year and have "temporarily" used a family members laptop since.
Still have my Zune HD and OG Brick Zune 30GB (in blue/black, not the beautiful brown unfortunately).
You may need to pay for something to stream away from home. I had to pay a one time fee for the app on my phone to watch movies and tv shows, like $9.99 on iPhone, IIRC?
They removed the pay requirement for plexamp recently. You don't have to pay to stream remotely.
vk.com has the best music streaming library, if you need underground stuff. You'll need to register there and browser with adblock feature (i'm using Vivaldi) if you don't want to listen to audio commercials in Russian language.
