It's just baffling that even "fake guns" are so dangerous.

There's still the possibility of a civil case. You can't put him jail but you can put him into bankruptcy.

That's dumb. As an actor, I can understand it, but as the producer, he definitely bears responsibility for the actions of the crew.

The understanding with any firearm, working or inert, is that it is your responsibility to check the weapon. You don't assume the person handing it to you checked it. You always assume it is loaded and capable of killing whatever you point it at. No excuses, no passing the buck. If you pick it up or it is handed to you it is your responsibility to check it, no one else's.
