Having read Scott’s linked post, where he talks about the $30K-$100K price of this shit on top of the eye-watering price (in the US) of IVF & calls it “within reach for most middle-class families”. Scott. Honey. What do you think is the budget of a “middle class family”? One that absolutely will private school or single-income plus homeschool, if they’re this kind of creep?

I feel for any kids born and raised this way. Little Maximus, Nero, & Cæsar Octavian will have terrible childhoods.

- Yeah that is silly esp as he himself wrote an article on how there are certain bands of experience you know and understand and how much there is outside of it. He is so bad at applying his own words to his own reasoning. Yeah sure the middleclass has another 300k to spare on their kids (I'm rounding the 0.5 kid up, no half kids today).

How many rounds of IVF is the poor pregnant partner, inevitably a cis woman, meant to do? Isn't IVF infamously fucking gruelling, requiring injections and ending in miscarriages? Is her husband going to make her feel like shit for refusing to make being pregnant her full time job? A massive amount of reproductive labour is just being taken for granted here.

And if these EAers refuse, the reproductive labour just gets passed on to other women. Grimes didn't want to have another kid with Elon (aren't they nonbinary? I'm sure it might have caused them dysphoria) so Elon persuaded one of his fucking employees into doing IVF and being their surrogate because it's important for smart people to have kids. (Source)

Is "polygenic" a real word or is a SSC shibboleth?
