I tried all the clients that are out there and no matter good they felt alien as I was accustomed to using Boost on Reddit. Now that the lemmy client has come, it's like I'm using reddit now. The only thing that bugs me is most communities didn't move from reddit and I'd have to continue using the official shitty app to engage with them.
Also I wanna know whether this one time payment would be all to access all the features or does the dev intend to go the sync route and offer something like ultra tier?
I agree with the other comments that stated that you should be the change you want to see in the world..
Lemmy does need a lil bit more content now. Engage with the users. Create posts and create comments. This is the future bro. A platform hosted by the users, for the users. You are not buying a yacht for anyone by using lemmy. On reddit however.. You use reddit and someone else gets to buy a new house..

Be the change you want to see in the world. Try to start one of those communities over here. Don't be disappointed when it doesn't get traction within a few days. There are some places to advertise new communities here.
That's what I had thought but there are some niche things I'm into and most other people who are into the same, neither have the time nor do they wanna put any efforts into learning something new, heck many wouldn't even know that lemmy exists or there were other clients you could use to access reddit. So I'll have to stick with it.
Also this whole fediverse and instances thing is a bit too complex to wrap head around for people who aren't geeky and just wanna get things done.
You can still use the old Boost for Reddit app. You just have to be a mod. If you're not yet a mod you can just create a new subreddit and set it to private. You can also spoof the client with the Revanced app.
Omg so THATS why Boost is still working for me...! I thought I was the only one, through some unbelievably fortuitous glitch in the matrix, and I've been keeping my mouth shut about it so that I wouldn't jinx it 🤣
I must admit it's hard for me to give up Reddit and fully transition to Lemmy when my experience on Reddit has been completely unaffected due to the ModBoost effect. I'm keeping one foot in each door because not all of my favourite subs have migrated (yet) and I do think what's happening here is honestly pretty special, it reminds me of the golden days of the internet before everything went to shit.
I'm saying that, I just this moment got Boost for Lemmy which I'm sure will be a massive turning point! Can't believe how slick it's running already. Boost devs I salute you 🫡 🙏
You can take a crack at using Geddit I suppose, doesn't use the reddit api so should keep working, but is in turn kinda janky as a result: https://github.com/kaangiray26/geddit-app
There's an "allowed" 3rd party app called Relay Pro that I sometimes use. Allowed because they were not using much API, supposedly (and also allowed to show ads by reddit now 🤔) Not sure if any others.
Yup because a lot of people that joined after reddit api changes have left it and not many people are joining lately, so the instance owners have built the capacity to handle the active users.
