"The Melody of Buried Bells" a reference to the Breakup of the Bell System and the ever recombining Baby Bells?
3I assume that the pufferfish in most of these is OpenBSD and this is the first I've seen that looks like the FreeBSD demon. The penguin that's all over in many other comics I assume is Linux.
With two of these being BSD mascots, l'd have figured that the others are also BSDs, but I'm at a loss.
What are the dog and the human-ish character?
NetBSD's symbol is a flag, and DragonflyBSD's is a dragonfly. Maybe those could be dragonfly wings behind the humanoid head, but the dog doesn't fit.
EDIT: no, that's the pufferfish's tail, not wings.
The only dog mascot I can think of that's even remotely related is the Puppy Linux dog.
