Cabinet minister tells Liberals to 'change their attitude' as MPs return to Commons

A cabinet minister who serves as the federal Liberals' national campaign co-chair told MPs at the party's recent caucus retreat that they need to "change their attitudes" if they want to turn around their dismal polling numbers, sources tell CBC News.

Three (MPs) said Tourism Minister Soraya Martinez Ferrada, national campaign co-chair, told them during her presentation that if they "want something to change" in their political prospects, they should change their "attitudes" first.

Two of those three MPs said the comment was poorly received by caucus members in the room. One said the statement was particularly galling because backbench MPs have been bearing the brunt of voters' dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his government.

  • Imo the only thing that's gonna change the Liberal's future is for Trudeau to step down as leader.

Blaming cabinet ministers for what the behind-the-scenes old boys' club and Trudeau are doing to the party is barking up the wrong tree.

    • Thankfully I live in a riding that was, is, and forever will be, an NDP stronghold. So I don't have to feel the same level of shame in seeing the liberals act like entitled, out of touch, assholes.

I laugh at the people who call jt a commie (ask someone from China what living under an authoritarian communist rule is like).

But I can agree that he has degraded the standing of the liberals. Especially his many term failure (read: power addicted liar) to enact changes to the election system, and a federal disability act.

If this were an era where I wasn't afraid of the horrors that would come from voting con, I would.

JT and the rest of the libs* need to shut the fuck up and change their attitude.

JT needs to be brought back to earth.

*edit: libs - the liberal party.
