Books in Oregon libraries saw a record number of challenges and censorship efforts this year, according to a report from the Oregon State Library. In multiple Salem libraries, books about LGBTQ+ people and people of color were hidden on far away shelves and thrown in the trash.
You know, I reject moral absolutism, but this is one case where I feel fine saying that this is a form of evil. It's absolutely, 100% wrong, no matter what the book is. You never, ever destroy things in a library. Period, and that even goes for stuff I'd object to in other contexts.
It's one of those things where once you cross that line, you've become something horrible.
