Apple plans to upgrade the App Store’s search engine, and it might not stop there
Apple has all the pieces to mount a Google search competitor.
You mean it will return the thing I searched for instead of ads for competing apps?
Or is this about making it even worse for users so it makes more money for Apple?
36ReplyHere’s a great shortcut to skip the App Store search and avoid the ads.

When users have to Google for apps instead of searching the App Store, it’s time to burn it down and start over.
15ReplyAs long as the storefront becomes actually useful, instead of just showing clash of clans for the 17th year in a row, I'm down with anything
12ReplyIt boggles my mind that people are still playing Clash of Clans, a few of my friends tried to get me into it in like 2012 so I gave it a shot for like 3 days and then gave it up. How is it still going
7ReplyAddiction does insane things to people

Oh no…not upgrades…! And it might not stop there!? Oh no..
7ReplyI hope they bring back the wishlist feature. It's so annoying having to maintain a note with a bunch of links.
4ReplyYeah, that was such a weird thing to remove.

Finally!
3ReplyDoesn’t matter how powerful the search is if I STILL can’t filter anything.
1ReplyHighly doubt they’ll ever allow filtering on the important stuff:
- filter out paid apps
- allow paid apps but filter out IAPs
- allow IAPs. but filter out subscriptions.
5ReplyI was more referring to simpler things… like Safari Extensions or Utilities… or even filtering/searching by the app description instead of the over stuffed title.
