I haven't been asked to give any weird permissions, I just needed an email address and password to sign up. I never used twitter or anything similar other than instagram but I gotta say I'm not too excited about bluesky so far. I signed up when I found out Elon was mad because people were leaving twitter for bluesky. I enjoy seeing Mark Hamill's and George Takei's posts, and the most recent JWST pics are awesome, but overall I'm not a big fan. Maybe the way I set it up is suboptimal? Idk, I probably already have enough things sucking away my time and attention.
Thats what lemmy exists for... Not every platform needs voting. For microblogs, which usually represent and individual person, having voting would be a horrible idea because it would allow for brigading of small peoples platforms. With a few hundred people you could make sure that specific accounts or groups of people never reach "top".
As in literal shit, no, and lets try to keep it that way.
Shit
As nohing of quality, that is absent everywhere. Go read a book, you're better off. Support an online archive while you are at it. Save ebooks and other cultural media in an offline support and share ot with others
Shit
As an indication of quantity, I disagree. There is plenty of shit to scroll through and pilling higher every second.
Shit
As in all of the above... where can you even find that?
