Ukraine agrees to 30-day ceasefire as US prepares to lift military aid restrictions

To clarify, the ball is not in Russia’s court because the US has no authority to enforce any rules and is, in fact, itself a player. There is nothing the US can do to compel Russia to alter course given that years of sanctions and massive military aid to Ukraine have already failed. Western strategy in Ukraine has backfired leaving Russia holding all the cards.

Shoot… this means 29 days to Russia rolling right through Ukraine, doesn’t it?

Probably totally unrelated, but I find it interesting that Canada suddenly lifts the electricity surcharge right when the US suddenly decides to support Ukraine again.

Like I said, most likely totally unrelated, but the timing is a bit suspect. That surcharge of 25% would have netted Ontario something like 400K a day from the US. Not economy ending, however I can imagine a lot of residents and business owners in the affected states would be mega unhappy about it.

This is great news and a good step towards peace.

Meanwhile Russia seems to have staged a fake Ukrainian drone attack in Moscow.
