Mexico City bans violent bullfighting, sparking fury and celebration
Mexico City lawmakers have voted to ban violent bullfighting in the capital. The decision Tuesday spurred fury among bullfighters in the city and celebrations among animal rights advocates.
It's a great move because the opposition will now uncritically defend the right for bullfighting, a practice that is incredibly unpopular among the younger generations, furthering strenghtening the ruling party popularity.
Loving how the pro-violent bullfighting folks are acting as if it bans the whole thing. /s Shit would just ban the killing and maiming parts along with time limits for the bulls. If anything it seems like not being allowed to spear the bull would make their sport much more skill based. Like it is more impressive to deal with a pissed off/stress out bull that has no say in the matter. It seems that even if it wasn't done now, that the younger gens that already don't like it would be doing it once they are in power.
I read that as "spanking fury.." and wondered what fun they were having I wasn't aware of.
But yeah, not being able to torture animals for a laugh, what an atrocity. /s
