I hate to side with Disney, but this was clearly a case of a government retaliating against a company for making a political statement. This is literally what the First Amendment was written to prevent.
108I 100% agree and think DeSantis is in the wrong here - but I think it's worth pointing out that if we hadn't spent the last century having government entities heavily propping up giant companies so they can get an edge over all their competitors, then this sort of retaliation wouldn't really be possible.
I'd be totally fine with Disney losing all it's special priveledges, about time actually - but not because they happened to piss off one whiney politician
