Xbox will block third-party controllers to "preserve the console experience"
Microsoft announced that unauthorised third-party controllers and accessories will no longer work on Xbox consoles after November.
There is a discussion on Hacker News, but feel free to comment here as well.
The console experience has, until this, been able to use 3rd party controllers. So saying this preserves the experience is a big fat fucking lie.
Why don't they just stop making the console if they want to kill it so badly? That's allowed.
10ReplyOh cool, I was wondering when the Xbox console was getting its next round of enshittification.

5ReplyThis is how Sony won this generation by a landslide.
5ReplyDo they make controllers that address all accessibility issues?
4ReplyYes, at least for most.
4ReplyThanks – had seen something like that but didn’t realize it was first party.
