A network of X accounts is targeting Canada ahead of the election
The accounts are pumping out thousands of posts about the Canadian economy and alleged support within Canada for U.S. President Donald Trump’s annexation threat.
Maybe we just need to ban all social media for the last 2 weeks leading up to an election, similar to how many countries ban publishing polls in the final stretch before an election.
I might be wrong, but the UK I believe has laws against the media talking about elections like the day before and day of polling.
That's just blanket censorship, breaking up social media companies and forcing their federation, shut down is a better deal imo.
Simply banning mass forms of communication is backwards and will obviously lead to accusations of rigging for the incumbent party.
That only works if they're from that country

I'd sure love to see Canada and the UK simply shut X down within their borders. There were some grumbling awhilemago, in the UK Parliament of naming Musk as an extremist, based on his ability to not only buy influence, but his ability through X to promote or censor speech as he likes, influencing elections, or even overthrowing governments.
Just forbid X and filter out their IP range. Problem solved.
