In other words, if you drink two beers a day, every single day, the total cost of your beer will go up about $6/year. If you're so close to the edge already that that is going to tip you over, maybe you ought to cut the beer altogether.
Beer is already ridiculously expensive in Canada. As a dual citizen, I always load up in New York before crossing that border. Crazy that they want to hike it more.
It works to be less than a penny per beer. If you were a heavy drinker and had 4 beers every day it's like a dollar more each month. As far as tax hikes go I wouldn't worry much about this one
