10-year-old girl suffers severed spine in I-70 traffic crash near Genesee; off-duty sheriff’s deputy cited with careless driving
An athletic 10-year-old girl who loves soccer, ice skating, skiing, rock climbing and other sports, will never walk again after her spine was severed in an Interstate 70 traffic crash.
Dude was going 70 in a 65 while traffic was at a stop
What the fuck.
23ReplyThis hurts my heart. Poor kid. Goddamned cops.

Since he's a cop that means no charges right? Just a child with life altering injuries?
18ReplyCriminal charges, no. He (and the department/local government) are still going to get their asses sued in civil court though.
6ReplyThe headline literally says he was charged. He was off duty. Also, even if he was on duty, Colorado does not have qualified immunity.

A cop? Not following the law? How could this be?!
14ReplyFucking cops
11Replyso he in his Tahoe and a dude in a Nissan are driving like idiots together, probably in a road rage.. Tahoe wrecks 2 cars directly and cripples the girl.. the Nissan also wrecks and flips and lands on its roof..
8ReplyNo info about suing the cop? I would try to get a massive payout to make the life of my child at the very least stress free of financial hardship.
7ReplyShe's still being so upbeat about it. She's a strong kid who doesn't deserve this at all.
6ReplyAnd all they're going to do is look into if disciplinary actions are required. If.
