Voters approved a massive property tax cut and several other measures, but refused to raise the mandatory retirement age for judges.
It really looks like people just went through and hit Yes on everything.
Man, the wealth tax ban is mind-boggling to me. I can only imagine what marketing they must have done to convince the average voter there was any downside to the POSSIBILITY of taxing high net worth individuals, without any specifics.
8Voters hate taxes, but they love debt. Bond elections usually pass. Guess what — if you paid for it upfront (taxes) it would be cheaper.
Same with toll roads.
Same with privatizing the grid.
Same with the push to privatize schools.
It’s gonna cost you more in the long run.

7Look at all the mud propositions in both Travis and Williamson country where only 1 person voted. Talk about making your vote count.
5You should look that up. I read that it is something like developers paying someone to live in a mobile home on empty land that they are getting ready to develop. The person in the mobile home voted for the MUD.

5I was disappointed in the broadband bil passing. It sounds like a good idea, but the feds have already poured grant money into the same thing twice in the past twenty years and the money just vanishes with little to show for it. I doubt this is going to do anything different.
