I will never understand why Sony and From insist on never updating this game.
Didn't even get a PS4 Pro patch, and hackers got it running at 60fps even there, albeit at a lower resolution.

9The rumor is that bluepoint is doing a remake. Doing a ps4pro update wouldn't have made more sales and doing a remake on ps5 is gonna make a lot more money than a patch
2hot take(or maybe it's just more of a shitty personal opinion): but Bloodborne, and consecutively Elden Ring are both garbage fucking games. not only performance wise(which to put it mildly, is a disaster) but also narrative wise. elden ring has the most pathetic story telling experience till date. and is a moronic excuse for a third person adventure game
-25Shit take. None of the Soulsborne games are narrative driven. If you went into them expecting a clear cut story to be told to you, then that's your fault. From soft is widely known for having deep lore that you have to discover and parse on your own.
6I can't agree that they are garbage games, but I also don't see why BB is so hyped either. I finally got to play it and I was rather disappointed in it's level design and direction. It is the most confusing of the games. I ended up finding most of the secrets just trying to find the main progression, which, IMO, isn't a good thing. I shouldn't be finding all the secret stuff before finding the main stuff while not playing with a guide.
The fact you expected narrative story telling tho is why you hated them. These are not narrative games. The story is told through the environment, and the focus is on the gameplay. They literally write the plot after designing the game and the levels as a mere way of connecting them loosely with a story that ultimately doesn't matter.

On Twitter I see a lot more people shitting on Series S|X than PS5, now I'm no Microsoft fan but that console has far superior backwards compatibility to begin with, and they have plenty of older games with "FPS boost". Sony doesn't seem to want to do this and I don't get why, it's entirely possible and would probably help PS5 sales.
Worst part is you just know Sony will go out of their way to try and patch around this.
7It's not that Sony doesn't want to. Backwards compatibility between Xbox 360 and modern consoles is possible because the architecture between them is similar, whereas the PS3 is too different to PS4/5.
As for FPS boost, it depends on the developer, not Sony.
I think the hate for Xbox is mostly because they lack good first party titles. Most of them bombed. Remember Halo Infinite and Redfall?
5Yes the architecture is different but that's not the point I'm trying to make. Microsoft are actively pursuing backwards compatibility and trying to make it better, FPS Boost and enhanced resolution are both such prominent features that they're advertised on the Xbox store for each game that has them.
It's something Microsoft is pushing for, FPS Boost was developed by the Backwards Compatibility Team, they then work with developers to implement it with past games. PS5 has Game Boost but aside from it just being there Sony isn't offering the same assistance for developers to improve older titles, if this was an Xbox game you bet Microsoft would be helping to implement FPS Boost and get it to 60fps.
3On one hand, I can kind of agree and see Sony having the courtesy of having PS3 available to stream if you have access to the classics catalogue. But it sucks it's an extra service you must pay for, and that Metal Gear Solid 4 isn't on there. (Though that last bit may be Konami's fault, not Sony's).
