Really glad to see this community start up on another platform after Reddit brought the hammer down. Centralized social media only gives a platform as long as they want to. Justified or not - they have chosen to rescind the priviledge to theppshow community.
Lemmy.world is a massive instance, and fairly open from what I have seen.
Users can make an account here on lemmy.world but they will still be able to subscribe and participate on other Lemmy instances and other Lemmy communities, similar to Reddit.
For more DRS / Investing content, I'd also encourage folks to check out the DRS instance hosted by the DRSGME/WhyDRS team.
You can get there easily through my profile or by pasting this link into the search bar (upper right by default) from this community page.
Hardening Improvements:
Protection: No website application firewall detected. Please install a cloud-based WAF to prevent website hacks and DDoS attacks.
Security Headers:
Missing security header for ClickJacking Protection. Alternatively, you can use Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors 'none'.
I haven't really subbed to many lemmyworld communities, I would wonder if you get it with any others? My feeling is that it would have to be something about how the instance is hosted. Community managers don't have any control over how the instance is hosted.
As a side note, even though Malwarebytes threw the warning and blocked whatever the lemmy.today call was. The Subscribe action went through and let me join The PPShow community.
Yeah, I should test it joining another lemmy.world community, but I barely use lemmy at the moment. Darn reddit addiction!
I visited https://lemmyverse.net/ that you mentioned and Malwarebytes started blocking lemmy.today, normalcity.life, so I stopped scrolling on their main page.
To find worthwhile communities by name: (on Lemmy, "subreddits" are called communities)
click on "Communities" at the top of Lemmy
near the top right corner is a search box to search for communities by name.
search, for example, for "GME"
click on any of the individual search results, which will take you to that community's page. Click the Join button. this will subscribe you to that community and show you posts from that community under your Subscribed feed
