If it was up to Google you would have an official Google account linked to your government issued identification, that you accessed only via chrome and official youtube clients. Invidious, revanced, ytplus, etc would be illegal, manifest v2 would be done, and they would force through the webdrm thing they demoed a while back.

They know people won’t embrace this so they’ll only do it through small movements toward it whenever possible however possible. They attempted the webdrm stuff and got too much pushback so that was put on the back burner.
