FUN FACT: There's limited evidence that literacy was higher in the Legions than in the general population. Not because it was a recruitment requirement, but probably due to a mixture of the low literacy of rural areas, that almost all promotion opportunities in the Legions required literacy, and the fact that bored soldiers pass skills around almost as often as STDs.

Some things just never change.
Bringing up IQ should disqualify you for most hiring processes
Where do you think Marines come from?
Not all of us have the digestive fortitude for a crayon-based diet
No, but those that do are able to wax nostalgic about it in the retirement home.
Pretty much the same for joining the army
Putting stock in IQ scores is one hell of a red flag.
It's just a meme.
In reality, intelligent is highly situational dependent, but citing IQ is a quick way to convey meaning.
My Polish grandfather was forcibly enlisted in the Czar's army because he was a robust farm boy and was under 5'8". Their uniforms didn't fit anyone taller, apparently.
The last sounds like the oil patch.
Btw you also have no expenses, high wages, a retirement plan and in a year you'll average much less than 40hrs a week
In the legions? Gods forbid!
Your pay will be deducted for both food and equipment as it's replaced (with sandals being an especially regular expense), your wages are only slightly above an urban laborer's, and the only time of the year you'll be working under 40 hours a week is in the wintertime, when the days are short.
You're really ruining my narrative right now asshole
