That's just for this issue right now in particular but they've had instances where supposedly an overzealous employee was going around banning anime-like games a few years back with no explanation.
Well yes, and Steam is continuing to censor and damage its reputation as the best gamer's market, as a conduit of free expression. It's possible they are continuously pressured and were told to remove this, but they can also say no. Valve can have moral standards, and they can prove they're not part of the problem by being transparent and ensuring that they do not help usher in a terrible, oppressive future.
Look, I get it. I really do. But that doesn't excuse them lying about it.
