Whoa, that's D-sub and has 3 rows of 5. It appears to be an overly large VGA output port. If it was used as a bidirectional data port then there is no telling how to signal through there. My guess would be a clock pin and 7 each transmit/receive.

Maybe the pin wiring correspond to the joystick/Thick Ethernet wiring.

DA-15 is 8 over 7. This is clearly 5/5/5, which is the form factor of DE-15. DB-15 is a mass misunderstand.
