If so, they suck the juice out of live plants. Probably better to catch it and put it outside though
One of these guys. I got him in this bread pan with that big ass leaf acting like a moat in shallow water. I threw a bunch of random leaves I found from outside including clover. But I have no idea if he's gonna eat any of that.

That's a katydid, related to grasshoppers. It'll probably like eating leaves, but their diets can be varied, and who knows what kind of plants it prefers/needs.
I'm a little worried about this. From my limited experience I think some bugs need a certain humidity/temperature and as little handling as possible. Based on your pictures you don't seem well equipped, so maybe it would be best for the bug to be released back into the wild
I wouldn't worry too much. He's had bite to eat and now he's doing music production with me.
How about put the fucking bug back outside where it has everything it needs to live without some idiot thinking its a pet.
