Good tip, Ken. Happened to me once too. I was swimming with my kid and I said the water was too cold. She said, "No it's not." and she was right.
- Were you assuming the water was cold because it's blue?
  
  I didn't know that it wasn't cold, it was just blue.
Fun aside - most of the time a bad smell after washing comes from too much detergent, and constant washing on 30-40°C with no 90-95°C loads.
- Please don't set the fun aside. I was enjoying myself.
- It’s actually from not leaving the door open, close it and everything stays moist, leave it open and it dries fully inside. Most people wash with cold water nowadays, no stink if you don't close the door!
  
  My washing machine does not work if I keep the door open.
  
  This and add white vinegar to your load of towels or bed sheets
