Friendly reminder that the lemmy.world admins doxxed one of their users they thought was me. They also log and monitor the IPs and the emails used to sign up on their instance as well as use a discord bot to log all posts/comments made to lemmy.world. Don't make accounts on their instance!
Wait seriously? They doxxed someone? If you can do so without further throwing the victim under the bus, could you elaborate or provide a link to the incident?
Holy fuck have you got more info / sources for that? Really would like to show the surveillance to a FOSS buddy that acts as if free speech and freedom from surveillance is important to them, but did defend the de federation.
The bot has the functionality to send posts/comments/user to a designated discord server as posts in a channel which exposes the data to discord's data collection which is not protected via their https://discord.com/privacy
Nazis are basically never banned from any lemmy instances, except our, for being nazis. I rarily even see nazi shit banned despite reporting it every time, and if they are banned, it's usually for tone policing reason.
Look at modlog. Basically no one banned for being nazi, and you just need to skim worldnews to see some nazi apologia. They are sometimes banned but as i said for other reasons. Also i meant all instances, can Dessalines and Nutomic even ban people at let's say .world?
And those who demand instant perfection the day after the revolution, they go up and say “Are there civil liberties for the fascists? Are they gonna be allowed their newspapers and their radio programs, are they gonna be able to keep all their farms? The passion that some of our liberals feel, the day after the revolution, the passion and concern they feel for the fascists, the civil rights and civil liberties of those fascists who are dumping and destroying and murdering people before.
For examples in history, Black Reconstruction by DuBois is an excellent source of "if you let the fascist be fascist right after crushing them in a civil war, you're gonna have a bad time."
I've been searching a lot for someone contemporary who can deliver a speech the same way Parenti could and I haven't really found anyone. Maybe it has something to do with the way academia has changed to be much more tightly controlled, leaving no room for dissidents.
And one of the reasons was hexbear being anti NATO. In what world is being against NATO a bad thing? I'd guess the majority of the world's populace is not fond of NATO.
Extremely ironic that the Lemmy dot world instance is hostile to the geopolitical opinions of most of the world. Typical "international community" type shit.
Absolutely! The joke is that "freeze peach" sounds kind of like "free speech," so it's become a meme to mock the (usually far right) people who claim that freedom of speech should be upheld at all costs, including human decency, and that things like racism, sexism, LGBTQ+ phobia, hell even full-on Nazi propaganda should be unrestricted on the internet.
