Disney ships utilize fuel with a 0.1% sulfur content which is key to reducing climate-harming emissions
Somewhat ironically, lower sulfur emissions are getting blamed for reducing atmospheric reflectivity and contributing to 2023's abnormal temperature increases.
But this one is still golden:
Scrubbers are used to “clean” smokestacks from the dirty fuel they use and reduce air pollution. But the scrubbers convert air pollution into water pollution because the toxic byproducts from the scrubber systems are discharged into the seas.
"We don't pollute the air!... (just don't look at the water)"
Yeah but cyanobacteria didn't have massive entertainment cities to transport self-centered jackasses and their hotels thousands of miles by burning bunker fuel.
First, thank you for giving me something new to research, second, I can't help but be reminded of the floating mansions that the Roman elite and Rich had just before the fall of Rome...
This all makes me wonder if we should do another "limits to growth" study.
