The apple-less should not be shamed, but pitied. For they are unable to keep doctors away from their doorstep

Okay, yeah, but can you turn off the music in your head?
29ReplyHell nah and I couldn't survive without it
17ReplyI can't image life without it and it makes me sad there are those who can't experience it.

Yeah, learn how to play an instrument. Rapidly play multiple songs after each other. For a little while it'll be quiet. I usually end up having one of the songs I played in my head after a bit though. But it'll get rid of really annoying songs.
3ReplyHey Don't write yourself off yet
1ReplyIt just takes some time

I recently learned that Mariah Carey "Fantasy" can play over any other song in my head and it has been a major blessing.

I’m apple-less. But I can’t picture you shaming me.
28ReplyOoh that one's good!

19ReplyAlways have been 🗣️🔫
9ReplyAre we taking shitposts seriously now?
6ReplyThat's the thing though isn't it? People always have so why do you expect them to stop now?

Does anyone else have a visual memory that doesn't work consistently?
There are days that I can "see" a picture crystal clear high definition in my mind. And there's other days that I "see" everything blurred, or under a fog, or hidden in something like TV static/noise.
19ReplyNope, pretty consistent for me. Does you sleep quality or hydration affect it?
11ReplyI really don't know. I will pay attention on it from now on...
3Reply
Kind of? But it's less specific days and more certain things.
Like apples are simple so I can see them easily, but if it's something I'm not use to it's kind hard to put into focus or the shape shiftd or something.
4ReplyI sometimes get blurry flashes of memories that I can use to know what it looked like but I don't actually see it (just the blurry part)
2ReplyI get that sometimes, like reading a book and visualizing what's on the paper rather well, or my braino-o-vision isn't working.
1ReplyI get that kind of brain fog when I'm dehydrated or have gone for long periods without reading a book.
1ReplyPermanently Deleted
1ReplyYup, I also have times where pulses in clarity.

Damn I've read about aphantasia before but never seen it depicted in a graph with levels... turns out I'm around a 4.. thats weird.
16ReplyHere is a slightly different (but better resolution) image:
16ReplyThat's pretty interesting. I never gave it much thought, but apparently I'm between a 2 & 3 at the moment
1Reply
0 I can create apples with a mere thought.
13ReplyWhat if the apple is green because I only eat Granny Smiths?
9Replythen you're a fucking lunatic
11Reply
Waaahhh... Not like I wanted an apple in the first place.
Btw I feel like this is good place to promote !aphantasia@lemmy.world Not very active but maybe others could help change that.
