Man Arrested for Creating Fake Bands With AI, Then Making $10 Million by Listening to Their Songs With Bots
  • I think it would be obvious to any discerning listener what music is actually made by a person

I'm not so sure anymore. Udio's output is more obvious but Suno has gotten scarily good. I'll still always crave the human element though and I make my music for myself.

    Edit:

There are plans to add more curation by adding support for manual postings and federation. That would allow people with similar interests to connect, acting more like a trusted community. However, this is still work in progress.

Oh no, some rocks, better bite the hand that feeds

South Park won't return until after the election, creators 'don't know what more we could possibly say about Trump'
  • They also mentioned that Paramount has also delayed things due to the streaming disputes. All espidoes will be available on Paramount in the USA come 2025. That seems convenient. Maybe they wanted to delay and Matt and Trey didn't push back.

Goodbye, Reddit: How the Internet’s Front Page Is Eating Itself
  • And now they're teeming with bots* and drove away the power users. Look how many posts and comments they've lost in the last year just from me alone.

    Edit:

The beauty of Reddit was its decentralized structure.
Users created and moderated their own communities with freedom and autonomy, and it led to an explosion of niche interests and discussions. Want to debate the finer points of medieval weaponry? There's a subreddit for that. Obsessed with pictures of birds with human arms photoshopped onto them? Yep, there's a subreddit for that too.

Took a bit but I'm glad we found the actual decentralized structure we needed

[M, 20] I've been looking for a relationship for awhile now. I've had a few shots, but they didn't go anywhere because they were all single moms with kids (nothing against that lol, I just know what I'm looking for). I wanted to find a girl who's into computers or coding, and maybe is even into Linux. I know there's meetup.com or events like DEFCON, but I'm looking for something in my area (NY). I refuse to go on Tinder. Sooner or later, I won't be carrying a cell phone (switching to laptop as daily) so my options probably just got a lot smaller. Although, I do think I'm pretty attractive, and I feel like I'd still pull regardless. Anwyays, where's the Linux women at? Like seriously, where? I guess I should just start roaming around with a Python t-shirt or something?

I could really use the extra storage right now but I know it's not best practice to just plug it into my PC. I'm tempted to risk it but I'm wondering if a virtual machine would provide any benefit? Unless I find any cool music I intend to wipe it (assuming it hasn't been already). Is virtualbox still the go to? I understand Linux would be a better option but I've given up trying to get my laptop to boot from a USB stick and the DVD drive seems to only read CDs. Haven't tried writing one but if that does work is there a good small distro I could try just for this purpose? Thank you.
