There's now going to be a war against Iran, and the US media is portraying Iran as the aggressor, even though Israel blew up Iran's embassy. THAT should have been a call to end support for the genocidal ethnostate of Israel and call for a ceasefire, but instead we're doubling down on support.
Also, friendly reminder that Israel would not be able to do this without US support. Biden could have ended this, but chose not to.
What is your defense now? How can you still justify supporting this genocidal maniac? How low is too low for you? How much suffering is too much? How many lives have to be ended or destroyed because of Biden? How much is enough that you are willing to protest, speak out against it, or at the very least not defend it in some deranged manner with "aT lEaSt He'S nOt TrUmP." People are dying. Imagine being the caliber of person who can excuse this and say this, or even approve of him and say he's doing well.
Literally the only way to look the other way is by convincing yourself that Iranians and Palestinians aren't really human. "Scratch a liberal, and a fascist bleeds" -- maaaannnn I used to think this was a bit overstated, but it's really no exaggeration at all, is it?
Edit: Lol at the right-wing neolibs who can't help but parrot their genocide-defending bullshit in spaces where they're not welcome. Thanks for providing examples of exactly what this post is about. Imagine thinking the person who is literally making a genocide possible is also the person who is "best for Palestinians."
At this point anyone who actively argues AGAINST Biden is arguing FOR trump.
Yes I have two choices, I hate both choices.
One is bad and is following standard US foreign policy stuff.
The other is Trump, who has claimed he’d let Russia do as they please and stop helping Ukraine AND would happily make himself dictator. The one who has called for violence against Americans. The one who has claimed he’s above the law. The one who is actively trying to prove that.
What is happening in the Middle East is in Russias interests. It is playing into their hands and it is distracting the world from their invasion. Trump and his cronies are Russian assets, they’ve made that plain.
What’s happening with Israel would be happening with or without Biden. You’d find an equally neutered US government when it comes to handling Israel. Trump would just make it worse.
If you argue against one option and the only other option is worse then you’re arguing for the worse option. Hands down.
No one said Trump is better, and you're defending someone who's committing a genocide. Thanks for providing an example of the type of fascist-enabling rhetoric we keep hearing from liberal centrists, though. Really validates my post.
They're not defending Biden personally, and they're not saying you shouldnt protest. They're saying "Don't forget, on election day you still have to go and vote for Biden because Trump will be worse". Unless you've got a better proposal on how to handle the election specifically, their point is perfectly relevant and doesn't undermine anything in your post.
GTFO of here with this bullshit. Yes. Biden is a piece of shit. Still better for the US than Trump, the ONLY OTHER CHOICE. I don't like that the US government supports Israel at all, but no matter who the president is that's going to happen. I prefer the one who doesn't also want to turn the US into a dictatorship. Read Project 2025. Your post is essentially campaigning for Donald Trump. If you don't understand that you're either naïve or stupid, or you do understand that and you're arguing in bad faith. Either way, see my first sentence.
What you seem to miss is that nothing happens in a vacuum. No one here is saying that what Biden is doing is good, but it's a hell of a lot better than what Trump would be doing, and that's an important distinction. Unless you have a better (realistic) suggestion, the only thing we can do is vote for someone who has disappointed us over someone whose goal is the end of democracy in the United States.
I definitely hope you're right. This headline makes it sound bad, but if you read further it does seem that Iran's response has shown remarkable restraint, considering the circumstances, and I'm hoping Israel will take the out.
But I too am a bit cynical, considering Israel and the US's history of going full scorched-earth at the slightest provocation.
PLEASE read the sidebar. Comments like "Trump is worse" or lecturing people about how/if they have to vote will NOT be tolerated here and will get you a temp ban, and a permanent ban if it persists. I'm not sure how much clearer I can be on this point.
