The inversion of the joke in the show makes this even funnier. If you didn't catch it as a kid, the neighbors he's comparing himself to, the Dinklebergs, have more material possessions because they're DINKs - Dual Income No Kids. That's where their last name comes from.
Hmm I gladly surf on the wave of this new movement/society mood because kids are annoying but I consider it more like a convenient excuse for myself than a real reason. We still live in the absolute best of times you could ever live in humanity history. Planes, cars, jacuzzi, Thai massages, 3d movies. Morning weed smoking in a pool to the sounds of birds. Two clicks away from ordering anything possible to your doorstep
Unfair stuff. I never had to work even tbh. I mean I did some because it was like an adventure with a friend. annoying that not everyone can just live and don’t worry about those things. I really would like it to be like this for everyone but I don’t feel I have any power to make it happen other than voting which I do for the left and even socialists.
It’s still hard to understand honestly all the doom prophecies and such from my pov

That seems to be the problem. People living in far worse conditions than you don't have any hesitation making children. Some of them even live up to be quite happy.
Work is fine, if it's meaningful to you. Consuming is basically everything we do that isn't "work". And death is inevitable.
If we didn't all have to do soul destroying jobs when we're young, I think we'd grow up with less of a desire to waste our youths trying to die young taking stupid risks in the name of YOLO or whatever. It also doesn't help most of us never stop do sounds south destroying jobs.
But it doesn't have to be this way. More progressivism is needed to get us toward a post-work future. Check out 'solar punk'. That's a future worth wanting.
Yikes, at least give the child time to decide for himself when he grows up.
