One thing I loved about the first half of the 1900s is all the goofy looking planes as we figured out what worked best.
It's like goofy looking jets as we figured those out, hypersonic, etc.
Yeah sure there were plenty of boring stock models and nowadays we have plenty of goofy looking things, but it's just not the same.
Maybe it's just me, but "modern" weird planes tend to all look pretty similar.
