Police don't need combat gear. If you need combat soldiers, get the military involved

- There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state. The other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.

Students should setup some sort of encampment and demand that their Unis pass legislation blocking such military equipment or funding from the Pentagon

But my alma mater has had at least one mass shooting, so I think that's gonna be their defense

Oh, I thought this was about students doing research at Unis for the military, which is arguably a more systemic problem.
