Note: Backing out of this post, after navigating to this post, via my profile, triggered the "blank feed" issue again. (See blank screenshot in comments.)

Kind of a two fold problem. First and most importantly, you press the profile button from the 3 lines menu on left of screen expecting to see your own profile and instead it displays someone else's profile who's not even on the same instance. The second is that now, changing user (I have one on one instance and another on another) goes to profile view rather than the front page or local or all of the instance for the chosen account (it is also of course, displaying the wrong user profile when it does this as well).

Though the choice of incorrect user profile seems to be random, it does settle on the one user and will always display that one. It seems to have selected someone from the lemmy.nsfw instance who likes AI porn in this case. I don't have any accounts on that instance and have never interacted with content they're commenting on lol.

In the latest version the blurry images previews appear to have returned. Also a couple of versions ago, the article previews stopped displaying - it now just shows a link icon with the domain, rather than any image preview like you get on the default Lemmy UI (and previously in Connect).

I have some people who replied to a comment of mine that was itself a reply nested a few layers deep in a post conversation. When I tap the inbox entry it opens a section of the Post's comment thread but my original reply and the reply to my message are nowhere to be seen. In another app, this works fine.

No offence, but, is it just me, or does anyone else find the Connect for Lemmy app to be incredibly laggy?

I've been experiencing some seriously frustrating performance problems that are making the app almost unusable.

Initially, I assumed it was my internet connection, and/or my mobile device causing the slowdown.

However, after thoroughly checking my network speeds and stability, as well as my phone, everything seems to be running perfectly fine.

Yet the app continues to crawl, with:

• Slow page/post loads
• Potential UI responsiveness issues
• Images not showing before I tap on them, and then, when I DO tap on them, they are all super pixelated.
• When I assign my profile image via the Web, no matter the image, when I tap on the image to expand it, in this app, it is always super pixelated and crunched up.
• When I tap on the Communities that I moderate via the sidebar, I keep getting told that there are no posts, no matter which moderated community it is. But if I check the

Long pressing on a comment has always collapsed it unless you were replying to the comment, then you could long press to highlight a string of text to quote for a reply.
Now, long pressing closes the parent in reply mode and there is no way to highlight text to copy for quoting purposes.

Lemmy Connect attempts to add ?format=webp to the image URL when loading .gif image, this makes many Lemmy servers return an error. When opening the post in the web browser, without the extra addition to the image URL, the image loads correctly.

That feed is not /c/cat on lemmy.world, it seems.

I just logged out and logged back in with no change. I'll clear my cache to see if that helps and will update this post if successful.

Edit: Clearing the cache did not help. Must be a Lemmy API issue?

Edit 2: NSFW communities are not hidden in the faux community feed either. Thankfully, they are blurred, but not hidden. Posting a comment with a picture from what was supposed to be lemmy.world/c/world. (Did I use "faux" correctly? I rarely use that word, so hopefully the intent shows.)

Edit 3: Ok, weird. cat on lemmy.world is broken from my account on .ca, but other communities are not, like business on lemmy.world. lemmy on lemmy.ml is also broken. The issue is more random than I thought.

Once I upvote a post, it would show me orange color that I have upvoted, but then as soon as I click on any post or change the page, I will come back home to find out that non of my upvotes were registered or stored.

This bug does not happen when I browse online then open the app. Only my upvotes through the app don't get registered.

Temporarily turning off unicode filtering may work if the users display name is different. (Some users may not be aware of what is causing this problem, unfortunately.)

(Maybe putting brackets around [usernames] might allow the "blank" usernames to be clicked.)

The "swipe for next post" area has been extended to include the comments section. Thank you!

Bug 1:

The sort order when swiping through posts does not match the sort order set in the main scroll feed. I haven't been able to figure out what sort order is being used, but the second post is often the same no matter which post was initially selected from the main feed.

Bug 2:

The "swipe for previous" gesture doesn't go past whichever post was originally selected from the main scroll feed. My ideal Lemmy browsing experience is "sort by new", scroll to the oldest post I have not yet viewed, and "swipe for previous" until I'm caught up to the present. The current swipe functionality doesn't seem to support this.

Bug 3:

Swiping to a post sometimes results in errors such as "Couldn't load via local instance. Actions

I seem to have gotten a saved account that can't be switched to and therefore can't be removed.

My instance had some server side issues and on PC I had to delete my cookies to get the desktop site to work. Connect wouldn't work and I had to add the account again. At some point the account name has changed to my email address @feddit.uk, which looks weird since it has two @ symbols. The newly added account works fine, but there's this stuck second version of it.

When I try to switch to the broken version I get an error pop up that just says "Error: unable to switch to 'me@email.domain@feddit.uk'" and it seems to retain the currently selected account.

Since I can't switch to that account, I can't sign out to have Connect forget it. So I don't see a way to get rid of it.

Has anyone else run into the same problem? Any suggestions?

Expected action: Liked comments stay liked after collapsing the top parent comment and then expanding it.

Actual result: the parent comment stays liked but all child comments lose their likes.

How to reproduce:

Like multiple comments in a comment chain, close the parent comment and then reopen it. All child comments will lose like status.

Scrolling to the top of a new post screen erased any post body you may have typed if you scroll back down. This only happens if you happen to have a tall image that you've uploaded to post. Normally the entire page displays without scrolling, which is why it may have gone unnoticed.

I guess I found a Bug, while commenting on an larger comment:

To recreate:

• Find langer comment
• Start to write own comment
• scroll up to read something in original comment
• copy a paragraph for citing in your own
• scolling down to continue writing
• initial written Text is gone

it does it sometimes, not always

When switching accounts there's some weird behavior if global settings are switched off (both accounts have their own settings). After switch all the settings are either set back to default or partially changed.

For example one time it changed text color to black against black background so it was very difficult to navigate the app to change it back to normal (I could only see black). Sometimes it still shows the correct setting on the settings menu but I have to reset it to the same value in order to make it effective.

It would be useful to also have a safety feature on the app that doesn't let text color ever be too similar to background color regardless of the theme settings. I don't think there's any use case for all text to be invisible in the app.

Says "Unexpected character (at character 1)". I would upload a screen shot, but, well...
