I have nothing against nuclear energy personally. I wish we'd build more of it. Currently about 2/5th is wind power, 2/5th nuclear and 1/5 hydro. When there's no wind and it's cold outside we see prices in the 30 - 70c/kWh which is insanely expensive. If we had huge storage capacity and much, much more wind turbines then maybe it could work.

Solid wood has the same grain texture all the way through. Plywood, MDF, OSB, etc., are engineered wood. Basically, if it says 'solid wood,' my assumption is that what I see is what I get. If it’s plywood with a hardwood veneer, then it’s trying to trick me into thinking it’s something it’s not, and that doesn’t count. Although, technically, if a piece is made of plywood and doesn’t try to hide it, I guess you could argue it’s solid wood - because, technically, it is.

Yeah, no. This is like suing someone because their picture of the sunset looks similar to yours. Obviously, the image is supposed to resemble that movie - I don’t think anyone seriously doubts that - but I don’t see any copyright infringement here.

The people starting wars and the ones fighting them are not the same. I'm pretty sure that being in war is pretty fucking traumatic to the vast majority of the soldiers independed of wether they're on the attacking or defending side.

They're not handing out personal information. If you hide stuff like that in your ad links then you're the malicious actor, not facebook.

I believe it's prohibited under GDPR as well as many local laws.

My name, address and phone number are public too but if you were to share it on social media you'd be breaking the law.

An advertiser contacts Facebook and says, 'We’d like to advertise this product to a specific group of people,' and Facebook says, 'Sure, hand us your money and the ad you'd like us to display,' and then targets that ad to the desired audience. At no point does Facebook hand over user data to the advertiser.

For example, if I want to advertise my home renovation services to all the elderly home owners in my city, then what use would it be for me if they just handed me a list of those people? None. They're the advertising platform. It's them who targets those ads.

Tracking those jets isn’t the issue. It’s sharing that information publicly. Facebook doesn’t hand out your personal information to others, and if you think they do, then you don’t understand how targeted ads work.

I haven't seen any statistics suggesting Teslas crash more often than other vehicles.

Start going to the gym and lifting weights. I know it’s a cliché, but it’s the single most impactful thing you can do - not only for how others see you, but also for how you see yourself. It’s something everyone should be doing anyway, but it especially applies to people like you. Don’t do it for them, do it for yourself. I know how you feel, believe me - I used to be in your shoes.

Nothing really. There are things I don't have much faith for, and some of those are ones I used to be more hopeful of before but I haven't exactly given up on anything.

I haven’t exactly claimed it was justified either. I’m literally hearing about this for the first time, and all my knowledge comes from this single article, so I don’t have enough information to form an informed opinion on whether opening fire was justified or if they could’ve just moved out of the way or not been there in the first place. My comment was more about cases like this in general rather than this specific one.

Let's be real here. The reason articles like this get so much media attention is because the victim was black, and the narrative of police being racist is a popular one. People, however, really struggle to acknowledge that, justified or not, the lifestyle of the majority of these infamous black people shot by police has been such that they themselves were likely fully aware it could be a possible outcome. Very rarely (though not never) does someone truly innocent get intentionally shot by police for no reason. This situation was perfectly avoidable.
