  • I mean... They're both princesses after all, not queens...

  • WordPad (or at least uses to) opens much faster than word, but still has rich text. Perfect for some short notes.

Or eg to edit an ini file. They display as readable text in WordPad and not just a massive long string like in notepad.

  • Full agree with this. I've used many different buds, linkbuds s are by far my favorite. The fit is excellent, they are very discreet visually and they sound great. Battery life is perfect, anc is great etc. I really cannot think of a single negative about them.

  • Awesome! More people in Japan should do that! Show some spine! Don't just constantly accept the status quo that is so pervasive in Japan.

  • Djeezus... Sports should be above politics. Shitty stuff.

  • I'm not a specialist and I'm just guessing: licensing fees and streaming fees to the actors etc? Every view costs them a tiny bit of money. I guess over time it adds up. And from Disney's pov those shows don't bring in new subs or anything, so they only cost them money?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Ah, ok. Thanks for clarifying it. Nothing to do about it then I guess :)

I still like your app a lot, much better than the standard lemmy UI :)

  • Been using it for a while now on my desktop. I like it a lot. But there is an issue with image compression?

When clicking on the image, it looks perfectly fine, but inline in the feed it is weirdly compressed. Makes it very jarring to browse e.g. memes.

  • +1 for that series.

I love John Scalzi's writing. And old man's war is great fun. Finished the entire series in a single big binge over a few weeks.

  • The culture series? It's not outright said they're human, but they're clearly human. And they outscale basically every single thing in the universe. Or at least in the first few books. Might change later.

  • I just started reading the series. Started just with the first one. Really enjoyed it, it reads like an action movie. Reading the second one. Starts a bit slow, but it's starting to suck me in as well. (don't remember the names, the books have such weird names :))

If I end up enjoying it as well, I'll just keep going probably. This post makes me want to read them all :)

  • Nobody stops you you know... What an incredibly dumb comment...

  • You genuinely believe every single Russian soldier is there out of their own free will?

  • Again, I'd blame society for that, not humanity.

I don't know if you've noticed, but the actual power in the world lies in the hand of just a fraction of percent of the people. Those asshole ruin it for everyone else.

Doesn't mean the average human is evil.

  • Pretty cool app. I'll try it out for a bit. Nice work!

  • Live long and prosper!

  • Thank you for being much more eloquent than me.

The average troll wouldn't be an asshole in real life. They'd likely just be an average bloke like us all that lost theirselves in online anonimity.

Time and time again we see that in many disasters the majority of people in the affected community come together and help each other tremendously.

There is ofcourse always rotten apples and exceptions. That doesn't take away from the fact that people are inherintly good to their fellow human.

  • Oh yeah, absolutely. And I'd feel horrible for the human being on the other side of the scope... I'm talking about the actual human being with a life being killed. Not the politics behind it.

That doesn't mean I'm justifying the atrocities Russia commits or even remotely support their unprovoked attack. Russia is the bad guy, no discussion. But they're still humans and I can still feel bad for the needless loss of human life.

  • Oh, I feel equally bad, or even worse when I see what happens to Ukrainians. My heart bleeds for what they're going through.

That doesn't mean I can't feel empathy for individual people that get killed in the blink of an eye...
