Lol what the fuck? I assume you are taking about California Forever but desert is a weird word to describe the Sacramento River delta. It is one of the largest estuaries in north america.
Seriously this ticks boxes Ive given up on. I never thought Id see a phone with all three: waterproof, removable battery, headphone jack. It even has wireless charging which isnt really one of my boxes but is a little extra if you use it.
You want other opinions on Lemmy but don't want to start a debate? That is a truly stupid position.
If you want to explore the nuances of pro/anti ai, go for it. I'm here with you. The person above made a point that the genie is out of the bottle. Maybe we could discuss focusing on making ai ethical rather that trying to catch smoke with our hands. Let's talk about that. But bringing up a vague concept because you want diverse opinions but refusing to engage? That is seriously dumb.
The whole new math everyone was complaining about is trying to do this. Granted teachers are human and flawed so sometimes it has not been implemented well, but it is aimed in the right direction.
I am absolutely going to start responding to questions / statements about gender with this concept though.
"There are only two genders"

The books stay the same. I liked them. I read the first two in a single sitting on a (verry) long flight. They are popcorn books. Fun without too much substance. The action is told from his point of view which is pretty jaded, its supposed to be humorous, and yes its a very dry humor.
Watching my kids take swim lessons I am super impressed how they KNOW how to teach. They have a slow steady progression of techniques that build on eachother. Same with gymnastics. Build strength, technique and confidence. No need to terrify kids.
In a similar vein, the social emotional learning they are teaching kids is great.
