Just saw a thread on thermal monitors for a desktop set up. It made me think of GKrellm. No https apparently.

I loved using that! But for some reason I stopped installing it.

Same with Afterstep. Though I found the configs for that one a pain to use, and I eventually started using things like Fluxbox.

So, what did you used to love, and maybe still do? Bit of a desktop-focus but it can be anything I suppose.

Right: in before "use firefox". 😜

Recent update has rendered Brave (brave-bin 1:1.52.126-1 from universe) and Opera (100.0.4815.76-1 from extra) unusable for some weird reason. Webpages do not load/partially load. UI partially loads. Setting pages won't load.

Caches deleted. Reinstalls of the latest versions have been done. No change. Firefox is okay, as is Falkon.

I've rolled back bother browsers to versions from May 2023 (brave-bin-1:1.51.118-1-x86_64 and opera-99.0.4788.31-1-x86_64) and everything is fine.

Has this affected anyone else? Saw an issue posted on Reddit, but no resolution so far.

Possibly an oft asked question. Is usenet used beyond binaries and downloads? Or is it just a ghost town now? Got a feeling I already know the answer though.

Normally, I love these two. I listen to a lot of Gordon and a lot of Chris across the podcast-verse. But at around 1 hour 33 minutes (link is cued up just before that) Chris notes that about "1 in 55" kids is on the spectrum, and do we really want them having kids with others who are ASD? Is that something we want a a society?

Please wind it back, it's an interesting discussion, if a little doom-laden at times.

I REALLY DON'T WANT TO MISREPRESENT AND I WANT TO GET A SECOND OPINION.

I want to say "this is a potential argument put forward by the class of people Chris and Gordon are critiquing" and not something Chris would just drop as a flippant opinion.

But to me, it doesn't sound like it. That makes me sad. Please wind it back, have a listen and tell me I'm a doofus or something because I'm not listening right.

I am reassessing my thoughts about this guy too. He has done some interesting stuff ('Our gods wear spandex' etc). But this ASD stuff is just a turn off.

Been on lemmy for a while, and stuck with web interface on desktop. But Thunder is quite nice. I was undecided between Jerboa and Connect... Thunder solves all that. Thanks!
