The same people that say "if you vote third party, you steal votes from Biden." Not that electoralism will get us anywhere, but it's just hilarious that they believe people are obligated to only vote for blue Hitler in the name of democracksy.
Exactly
I was just poking at libs that still fall for the "this is the most important election yet and our 'democracy' is at stake if we don't vote for Biden" nonsense.
Way to win young votes, lol.
I do not look forward to the precedent this sets as censorship and surveillance will start ramping up. This will likely lead to bans of free and open source tools, encryption, etc., especially if they originate from "enemy" countries or are used to protest against Israel and other Western imperialist projects, in the future.
Hopefully I can start some data hoarding soon.

PeerTube even has nice features such as being able to share a clip with a start and end time and send it as a url. This is super handy when one wants to share a specific segment of a video without people feeling overwhelmed if the video is long. Open source once again actually making features and not anti-features.
I hope to run a personal PeerTube instance someday in the near future.
It's all the same to Biden. Genocide means nothing to his bloodthirsty eyes. Protecting America's interest in the Middle East at all costs is all he and the rest of the ruling class care about.
And yet liberals are shocked when people are repulsed and don't want to vote for this demonic warlord.
Yup, we want a dictatorship of the proletariat.
We are currently under the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, and tankies want to flip the table around to have the workers rule for the benefit of humanity instead of the elite depriving the entire population and planet for profit.
US used RISC-V BAN!
US became confused!
It hurt itself in its confusion!
It's super effective!
From my experience so far in my pre-branch, we have been much better at maintaining our signal chats, restricting old users from the chats and not retaining old messages in previous temporary chats. I believe this is more of an issue with this local chapter, and I am glad that at least this wasn't a dangerous person as you suggested burning the chapter. I can see your viewpoint, but I think the first thing to be done is to privately message the party so that we can internally discuss this and resolve the matter through democratic centralist means. That's appropriate for any situation generally, and perhaps if this escalated and the party made poor decisions after this, then bring this to the attention of the national party, and then maybe mention it publically without exposing sensitive information (and censor a little better when showing screenshots).
I hope I am not saying too much, but I am also working on alternatives for google products within my pre-branch, and other members were going to mention their concerns about the security of using big tech tools before I suggested to help. I'm just one IT person, and I am already contributing a major difference as this pre-branch grows.
Hey, I am just as critical in regards to security and socialist parties including my own, and I do want the party to improve on their opsec and prioritize open source, self-hosted, and encrypted/sandboxed/etc. tools, but blasting this onto twitter without the party's consent isn't very responsible. I don't know if you are the same user as the one on twitter, but I do apologize for the experience and this is something I believe the local chapter as well as the national party should improve upon. I joined the party with the goal to contribute my IT skills to make the party more secure.
I'm still a bit new and still learning, and I am being careful about not sharing internal only information, but locally we do work on different trainings, and I may be helping organize one related to security. We need more IT comrades to help with the party in order to realize changes to our technical infrastructure, especially when we become larger and reach later stages of organizing and begin shining in the surveillance industrial complex's radar. Simply slandering the organization by posting internal information does not help, especially for this issue regarding a hole in their security.

This is my comment made a bit earlier to encourage tech literate comrades to join their local org as they can help improve their IT infrastructure and opsec.

I do agree with this person. I think this would have been handled better privately even though this info is helpful. In the pre-branch I am in, we do take opsec seriously and want to find alternatives to improve our security. I'm sure other local branches would be open to change if more IT comrades joined and made their voice heard.
I believe PSL worked with tools that were most convenient and accessible to them at the time. Plus, while I hate big tech tools and prefer self-hosted solutions, the security of Google, Microsoft, and other mainstream products is nothing to scoff at (ignoring backdoors built in for the feds), though your privacy goes down the drain. PHP originally self-hosted their git repository and had to migrate to their mirror on GitHub after they were compromised.
Time is of the essence to build class consciousness among the proletariat. We have been raising awareness of the genocide in Palestine, and I don't believe our organization is working in vain by running a campaign and accruing members and resources. Our current campaign isn't simply to win office. Of course there's extremely little chance we will win. The campaign is an invitation for workers to join a communist organization to fight for a better world, and the presidential election is definitely not a time to be quiet as more people are paying attention to politics now. Revolution is not going to happen overnight, and we are still in early stages of emerging in the US.

"functioning" (I need some comically large quotes.)
Note, they are different in meaning, too. "To each according to their work" regards early stages of communism, and "to each according to their need" is achieved during a successful transition to complete communism.
A single gpu passthrough is also possible now
If you have the hardware for it and/or can deal with some sacrifice, you could use a Windows virtual machine in linux, and do a GPU passthrough for gaming.
Linux will not meet 100% of your needs until the software developers decide to support Linux. It takes a lot of time to learn Linux. This is true. Even as a Gentoo and Arch user, I still have a lot of difficulty and frustration with certain projects to make my system work as needed. However, one thing I have learned in my journey with Linux is that there's a lot of beauty in using simple and plaintext tools, as well as learning the base Linux system and extending it with its well established protocols and tools. Linux can serve as your IDE, your music production environment, etc., but this does require becoming a more advanced computer user and may even require some programming experience. However, I like getting into the nuts and bolts of my machines, and I recognize that not everyone has the passion/time/energy to do same.
I started off in my later childhood not understanding what a DVD drive was and why it mattered when installing the Sims game I wanted to play. It took a long time for me to understand computers as I do now. I made the full switch to Linux when I had to bring a desktop computer to the library to use their wifi and lost my progress on my resume and job applications because Windows forced its updates on me. At this point, Windows was too much of an impediment to getting my life in a better place that I had to switch. Linux gives me full control of my system, and honestly it's much more convenient to get work done than to deal with the ancient and broken OS that Windows is. I value open source tools, and have been able to find better replacements than the old proprietary tools I used in Windows. I want to be able to be free from all proprietary shackles one day and be self/collectively-sufficient as possible in order to survive this capitalist system until we have a socialist revolution.
I know in your situation, some tools like FL Studio and Sony Vegas do not have 100% FOSS equivalents in Linux yet, but perhaps, if financially viable, you could get an inexpensive laptop or a small mini pc that you could install those tools on, and then use Linux for your main work. I would suggest Linux Mint to experiment with, though I wish they still supported KDE as I believe that desktop environment is much better for people who were Windows users. It's still probably one of the best beginner Linux distros, but I wish there was a better option for people to migrate from Windows, and I don't believe there's one perfect Linux distro for absolute beginners.
I was sort of making a "300 billion die in capitalism" joke, but I was trying to be subtle about it (probably not well). Of course a small time period of a pandemic in human civilization would usually result in less deaths than centuries of a grand structure in human civilization. I probably should have said capitalism is deadlier than all of the diseases in history combined, but I wanted to avoid being misleading in case I made a false statement. Perhaps if one considers comparing the death percentage of Europe's total population from the Bubonic Plague with the death percentage of humans who lived under capitalism, my subtlety may have been more noticeable, thus I should have emphasized proportional relations.
Capitalism, the deadliest and most severe of diseases. Deadlier than the Bubonic Plague by an uncomparable margin.
At least from my interpretation, it's a comparison solely from the end-user perspective, sarcastically dismissing the work of backporting security fixes, which I believe is still funny in its own right. But yes, the joke falls apart beyond this scope.
I wish it was the full anthem.
Xi Jinping tells Brics summit attacks on civilians must end and the hostages must be released.
Um, I am not sure how I feel about this. Why would Xi support a two-state solution? Isn't it more justified to have a one-state solution and return all of the land to the Palestinians? Won't a two-state solution eventually lead us back to another genocide? This feels off. I did not expect Xi to make such a statement.
